In preparation for this year’s FLCPA, we’ve gotten a sneak peak at the proposed IPC CP rule for 2015. They have not been finalized and published yet, but we do intend to run the FLCPA with the new rules as best we can. Below are the highlights that directly affect competitors that we will be implementing for the first meet. These may change a little bit when the finalized rules are published but we’ll adapt when the rules are officially published if necessary. We’ll be covering these at the competitors briefing but to help speed things along please take a look at them before the competition.
1) -PRO class-The max wind speed for ZA is 5 m/s. It remains at 7 m/s for all other events. AMA-wind limits remain at 5 m/s for all events.
2) -For drag distance, a new gate has been added at 70m. Vertical extension applies at this gate and gate 1 only. The gate at 50m will still be there but vertical extension no longer applies.
3) -If you land anywhere between G1 and G5 you will receive a score of 35m.
4) -If you land at G5, you receive a score of 50m.
5) -G5 has been remove from ZA.
6) -There are no more negative zones in ZA. You will only score 1 zone and it will be the zone with the lowest value touched during landing.
7) -Z1=1pt, Z2=11pts, Z3=19pts, Z4=27pts, Z5=34pts, Z6=41pts, Z7=46, CZ=50pts, Z8=25pts, Z9=5pts
8) -In distance and ZA, if surface contact occurs outside of the course and no part of the competitor’s body remains in surface contact within the boundaries of the course, OC applies.
9) -Marker strike penalties have been removed altogether. (but if you plow through the markers and break them, your paying for them per Albert.)
10) -There is a new weight chart for competitors to add weight. Your weight is determined fully dressed and then rounded to the next kilogram. Then you can find your max weight with added weight in the new chart below. From reading it’s unclear if dressed weight includes your rig or not, but for meet 1 we will say dressed weight does NOT include your rig.
