Each year there are always a number of competitors who don’t make the podium at the FLCPA meets. But in the true meaning of accomplishment these competitors continue return in an effort to improve their skills.
But there are always those who’s dedication shines a little brighter than others. This season that person was Brad Moon. He started devoting time to “Gate swooping” a few weeks before meet #1 when he was down in ZHills for a weekend. He had no intention of competing this season, but after talking to a few of the FLCPA locals, he gave it a try. At Meet #1 he scored only one round and spanked himself into the water pretty good on another one. But he continued. He came back and trained with us on off weekends. A month later, he returned for meet #2 where he scored 2 rounds. That’s double what he did at meet 1. He pressed on training and competing through the season. By meet 5 he scored the gates on 6 rounds with a top speed score of 3.6 seconds. He has continued on and is now also participating in the California League (CRCPL).
Keep up the good work Brad.
Hopefully we will see more new swoopers join the league with the same dedication Brad showed this season, it’s what the FLCPA is all about.
